Basic Wood Screen Door Installation – Final Steps to completion
After attaching your hinges to the door, locate and position your hinges onto the solid wood frame, once you locate and position your door, mark the spot with your pencil and pre-drill a pilot hole. This will make adding your screws easier.

DONE, you should double check your work at this time to make sure you have not forgotten anything or left off a few screws. It’s important to fasten your door properly so you will get many years of use. General maintance maybe required depending on the finish you have selected. Expect to re-paint your door every 3-4 years as required. You can replace your screen fabric anytime that is required. Simply remove your spline, and replace the old fabric with new fabric. |

INSTALLATION STEP # 7
Make sure you have ample clearance on the sides, top and bottom, now check to see if the door swings clear and there is no rubbing or binding. Once your satisfied that your door is spaced and installed properly , take this time to locate your handle or lock set. Making sure that you have to proper height, and you have clearance available from any of your doors primary entrance hardware
Mark the location for your handle or lock set.

One you have installed your lock set or handle set your ready to remove the door, and do any sanding or touch up work. When you have completed painting, staining be sure to install your screen fabric. In most cases this is a minor task and requires that you roll your screen fabric into the grooves provided on the inside edges of the door. We provide the screen and spleen.
